THE COURSE

The Sportsman Golf Resort has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation, restoring it as the premier golf course on the Gulf Coast. Architect Bill Bergin removed 2000 trees and added twelve acres of new lakes creating a superior links style layout. The result is the jewel of the Emerald Coast with a personality of its own.

The green at hole 15 is shaped like a moose head. The 8th is protected by a deep Scottish style pot bunker, while the 18th fairway is guarded by the soon to be famous "coffin bunker". Holes 9 and 11 share a double, winding green, and the grass...well you have to see the grass.

The Sportsman is only the second course in the U.S. to feature Salam Paspalum grass; the most revolutionary, unique playing surface in the world. This lush surface allows the ball to sit up, even in the deepest rough, and the color is as impressive as our gulf waters. Words can't describe it, and golfers are taking notice. The grass of the future is here today at the Sportsman.

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Not only is the golf course beyond compare, so is our practice facility. We're open to the public seven days a week and feature a fully lighted driving range, putting green, chipping green, greenside bunker, and a fairway bunker. You can practice virtually any part of your game, day or night. It is by far the finest, most complete practice facility around.

While you're here, let our on-site golf professionals help you fine-tune your game. Whether it's driving for show, or putting for dough, they will help you identify where improvement is needed, and show you how to enhance your game. With a lighted practice facility, our experienced golf staff can work around any hectic schedule.
