Featuring three 18 hole Championship Courses

When English colonist Richard Kingsmill settled on almost 3,000 acres of land on the banks of the James River in 1736, the plantation he envisioned was just a glimmer in his eye compared to the golf mecca that has been developed here today.

Barely three miles from the historic streets of Colonial Williamsburg lie three perfectly manicured, brilliantly designed eighteen-hole championship golf courses and a nine-hole par three course, to challenge the accuracy, the courage and the mind game of golfers from all levels of play. The rewards, of course, are consistent with the challenges.

At Kingsmill, golf is everything; but, it's not the only thing. From luxury accommodations to outstanding dining, nothing is spared, nothing is compromised. Nothing comes close to the Kingsmill experience, Virginia's largest golf resort, and destined to become the East Coast's finest golf experience.

The Woods Course

Two-time U.S. Open champion Curtis Strange and golf course architect Tom Clark combined forces to create a parkland-style golf course tucked away in its own private corner of the resort.

The Woods Course, Kingsmill's newest addition, was honored by GOLF magazine as one of the "Top Ten Courses Available for Public Play" when it opened. With deep menacing ravines, plenty of trees, and even a double green with a bunker in its center, the Woods Course provides a truly memorable round of golf.

The Woods course measures 6,784 yards from the Championship tee's with a slope of 131.

The Woods course measures 6,393 yards from the Men's tee's with a slope of 126.

Pete Dye designed the River Course to challenge the accuracy and consistency of PGA Tour professionals, yet still be enjoyable for the average golfer.

The terrain is pure Virginia rolling hills, elevated greens, thick woods and water all around. To score well, you must hit accurate tee shots and approach the greens through the air, landing the ball with precision.

The River course measures 6,853 yards from the Championship tee's with a slope of 137.

The River course measures 6,081 yards from the Men's tee's with a slope of 130.

Golf legend Arnold Palmer teamed up with renowned golf course architect Ed Seay to create a slightly more forgiving version of The River Course to appeal to golfers of all abilities.

The Plantation Course is more wide open, less demanding of pinpoint accuracy, but it's certainly no pushover. At 6,543 yards, there is less emphasis on well-positioned drives than accurate and consistent iron play and perfect putting on the undulating greens. Water comes into play on eight of the 18 holes, and there is no shortage of deep woods or rolling terrain.

The Plantation Course is fun, challenging and meticulously maintained. Historical landmarks from a 1736 plantation are woven into the landscape.

The Plantation course measures 6,543 yards from the Championship tee's with a slope of 124.

The Plantation course measures 6,092 yards from the Men's tee's with a slope of 116.
