Located 20 minutes from Downtown New Orleans
The
Tournament Players Club network was born in a swamp with the development of
the TPC at Sawgrass and has become an unswerving symbol of excellence in golf
course development. Little wonder then that there are great expectations for
another relatively flat site, the TPC of Louisiana at Fairfield.
Situated on 250 acres across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, the
TPC of Louisiana is being designed by a man who knows how to turn a site with
limited topography into a beautiful and compelling test of golf. Pete Dye, who
designed the flagship layout for the PGA TOUR, the TPC at Sawgrass, has been
called on again for another challenge.
PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem specifically wanted Dye to work on this
project, a high-end daily fee course completed in 2004. It played host to the
PGA Tour's Zurich Classic of New Orleans in 2005 before Hurricane Katrina
caused severe damage to the course. Closed for nearly a year to repair the
damage, TPC of Louisiana reopens July 15, 2006. It will play host to the
Zurich Classic beginning in 2007.

Rental Car in

If you are planning to
stay in the French Quarter / Downtown area and only playing a round
or two, you can get by without a rental car by using taxi cabs.
If you want to
play several courses, especially some of the premium
courses, which are located across Lake Ponchartrain, then a
rental car is recommended. Keep in mind that there are daily
parking fees at most hotels.
In either case,
ground transportation to and from the hotel to the courses
via van or mini bus can also be arranged with your package.
