Located 90 minutes from New Orleans and worth the drive! Accommodations on site. Arnold Palmer was granted complete freedom to route his golf course at The Bluffs through each of the diverse landscapes of the property, and eight separate routings were staked and walked before the best 18 holes were discovered. Only after the most dramatic golf holes were found was the surrounding residential community planned. The result of Palmer's patient search for the routing of the course is a naturally beautiful golf course featuring uniquely different holes with excellent memorability.

The Lodge is a small, exclusive, all suites facility overlooking the beautifully wooded golf course and Club at The Bluffs on Thompson Creek. Guests of The Lodge are welcomed into the private club environment and can arrange to use the Arnold Palmer golf course and the other recreational Club amenities. The overnight facilities at The Bluffs include 37 one-bedroom suites and one two-bedroom "Conference Suite."
The one-bedroom suites feature a living room with sleeper sofa, side chair, coffee table, armoire with cable TV, telephone and game table; a wet bar area with stocked "Honor Bar" refrigerator, bar sink and coffee maker; large private bath; and bedroom with either two double beds or one queen-sized bed, cable TV, telephone, clock radio and desk. The conference suite offers the same amenities plus a larger living area with conference table, audio-visual equipment, two private bedrooms and baths, and a wet bar area. All suites open onto a wide veranda with rocking chairs, cafe tables and chairs, and ceiling fans. The quiet, secluded environment is enhanced with a small lake located behind The Lodge.

This extremely scenic course was
built on the natural landscape. The terrain is hilly, so you can expect uneven
lies and several elevation changes. This course's most scenic hole is #4, a
214-yard, par 3, with a forty-foot elevation change from tee to green. The
multi-tiered greens are large, so three-putting is common. There are water
hazards (streams, lakes, creeks, and ponds) that come into play on sixteen
holes. The signature hole is #17, a 239-yard, par 3, featuring an elevation
change of fifty feet from the tee to a green guarded by water and sand
bunkers. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 3rd "Best in State" course for
1995-96, and 2nd in 1997-98. "GOLF Magazine" ranked it 34th among the "Top 100
Courses You Can Play in the U.S." It was also the only course in Louisiana
ranked in "GOLFWEEK's" 1997 list of "America's Best 100 Modern Courses," where
it placed 100th. The 6,000-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating is
75.0 and a slope of 139.
The
Lodge at the Bluffs 
Each
suite is named for a historic Feliciana Family and displays a short history of
the family. Antique furniture and accessories, dried flower arrangements and
framed Audubon prints accent tastefully furnished suites and lend a
comfortable "Bed & Breakfast" feeling to the accommodations.
