Located 30 minutes from the heart of New Orleans. Oak Harbor Golf Club is an 18-hole championship layout worthy of its critical acclaim, rated Four Stars by "Golf Digest Places to Play." Voted one of the Top 5 golf courses in New Orleans, Top 10 in Louisiana, and listed in Golf Magazines Top 100 new courses in 1992.

 Golf Digest gave it a nomination for "America's Best New Course of 1992" and with good reason. The Lee Schmitt design is Pete Dye inspired and built in the tradition of such great courses as PGA West, Oak Tree, and Kiawah Island. Schmitt makes good use of railroad ties and bulkheads around the many bayou waterways that intersect the layout.

This course was built on hilly terrain, but its main features are the water hazards that come into play on fourteen of the eighteen holes.  Most of the fairways are lined with trees that haven't matured enough to pose any real threat, but they are also bordered by a standard cut of rough, so shot accuracy from off the tees is still vital.  Players must also battle the winds off nearby Lake Pontchartrain. The fast greens are large and some of them are quite undulating. GPS System monitors are on every cart. Wide fairways help keep the ball in play but you will want to bring your best game to this challenging course anyway.
