Dancing Rabbit Golf Packages at The Pearl River Resort

As you stand
there on the tee, you are dappled with sunlight and shadow. Every fiber of
your being is alive. You bask in the splendor of one of the world's most
thoughtfully designed and immaculately manicured courses. Every detail has
been considered. Yet your surroundings still feel raw and untamed. A sense of
timelessness pervades.

With each challenge the course presents, the game seems new again. You follow
meandering paths, stroll plush fairways, even skirt the boundaries of old
growth forests, driven to experience more of this singular masterpiece.
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club... Find Your Course. Lose Yourself.
Together,
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club's courses, The Azaleas and The Oaks, roll out over
14,000 breath-taking yards. All told, more than 700 spectacular acres are
dedicated solely to the game and tradition of golf.
Nestled
quietly among ancient pines and hardwoods, each of these par 72 masterpieces
embraces the gently rolling hills and valleys indigenous to this part of the
world. Meanwhile, over two miles of spring-fed creeks and streams weave their
way through the lush Bermuda and Zoysia fairways and Bentgrass greens, lending
both challenge and beauty to the picturesque environment.
  The
creation of internationally renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio and PGA
great Jerry Pate, each of the 36 dramatic golf holes bears their indelible
mark. And still the courses retain the character and grandeur of the great
Southern woodlands from which they were masterfully carved.
The Legend
Built upon the ancestral lands of the Mississippi Band of
Choctaw Indians, Dancing Rabbit Golf Club is a celebration of their rich
culture, as well as their perseverance.
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club commemorates one of the most popular assembly grounds
on the ancient Choctaw tribal lands named for its location on the banks of the
Big and Little Dancing Rabbit Creeks not many miles distant from the Club
House. In the Choctaw language it is BOK CHUKFI AHITHAC, "the creek where
rabbits dance." It was like a well-tended park--beautiful, spacious--beneath a
canopy of mature trees.

It is
ironic that in September of 1830 the Tribe was stripped of its dominion over
its ancestral land by a treaty forced on them at the site. The old Choctaw
nation was removed to Indian Territory, now Oklahoma.
A hardy remnant remained. Clustered in small
communities the spirit of the Choctaws suffered many dark years on the land
that once was theirs. But the spirit was not dead. Gradually tribal members
began to regain control of their lives. They recovered some land, including
the parcel where the clubhouse sits on the headwaters of Wolf Creek (Neshoba
Bok).
With its stunning natural beauty--well kept,
spacious, open and gracious--Dancing Rabbit Golf Club is both a world-class
resort and a lasting monument to the Choctaw ideal.
